The Storm
In 2019, Hurricane Dorian brought seven feet of water across the entire island of Ocracoke. This powerful storm flooded the majority of the locals homes on the island, including ours. Built in the early 50’s, our home withstood many hurricanes and had never been flooded until Hurricane Dorian. Making Hurricane Dorian the worst storm in Ocracoke’s recent history.
Renovation
With over three feet of water entering our nearly eighty year old home, we decided to tackle a complete renovation. One that would take nearly two years to complete.
Lifting
We are excited to have our home lifted in the near future to protect from future hurricanes.
